Airthrey Green

Stirling, Mactaggart and Mickel & Graham’s The Family Dairy

OPEN prepared the landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) and photomontage visualisations in support of a planning in principle application for residential expansion of the Causewayhead area of Stirling. This included the development of a three dimensional computer model to demonstrate the mitigation proposals that are included within the development framework.

OPEN prepared the LVIA for the proposed residential development at the Airthrey Green site, on land to the north of Stirling. The LVIA was prepared to address consultation responses from Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), to provide additional assessment and visualisation of the development framework, to clearly show the massing, scale and extent of the proposed development and allow the landscape and visual effects of the proposed development to be understood. The LVIA was prepared as part of the suite of documents supporting Mactaggart and Mickel’s (M&M) and Graham’s The Family Dairy (GFD) planning application for the site.

The key issues raised during the LVIA and consultations with SNH / Stirling Council have informed the preparation of a revised development framework, which positively addresses the findings of the LVIA. The information provided in the LVIA allowed an informed understanding of the landscape and visual impacts for both the decision maker and a wide range of consultees.
