Rania Tzalla

Landscape Assistant

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, Rania studied Horticulture and Viticulture in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialisation in Landscape Architecture. After the completion of a first class honours degree, Rania was awarded distinction for her Research Master’s degree regarding the transformation of Greek suburban areas into environmental awareness parks. Subsequently, she completed a two year Postgraduate Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Edinburgh.

During her avocation with Landscape Architecture, Rania became involved in several workshops and traineeships focussed on urban communities and green architecture. The most relevant being, ‘An Ecological Corridor of the city of Thessaloniki’ at the Ecoweek International Conference under the organization committee of Hargreaves Associates, followed by publication in December of 2011.

Having a specific interest in ecology, recovery and green infrastructure systems, Rania joined OPEN in June 2013 immediately after completing her MLA. The wide range of complex projects undertaken by OPEN, most of them addressing environmental and sustainability issues, offers her the opportunity to utilise her past experience and establish a promising and fulfilling professional career.
