Marco Bonanno

Graduate Landscape Architect

Born in Turin, Italy, from a young age Marco had a genuine passion regarding Nature and Landscape Architecture, which led him to study Agriculture, with a specialisation in Landscape Architecture, at Turin University, gaining a first-class Bachelor degree in 2014. Understanding the key role that Landscape Architecture will play for cities and citizens in the upcoming years, Marco completed a two years Master Degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at Genoa School of Architecture and Design in 2017, he was awarded with distinction for his Research Master’s thesis concerning the rehabilitation and usage conversion of the past site of one of the biggest and most discussed Italian steel factories in Naples.

During his early professional Landscape Architecture experience, Marco got involved with many workshops and design competitions concerning urban communities and their relationship with green architecture. He has been involved in getting people closer to Nature, believing the integration of these two fields could powerfully shape cities and people’s lives, by means of a harmonious blend, hoping to provide people with a whole new level of experience and excitement, as they get in touch with the external space.

Marco joined OPEN London in August 2017 and is working on a variety of projects, for both public and private clients. Marco intends to develop his knowledge and experience of Landscape Architecture whilst providing his understanding and passion, particularly within Post-industrial Rehabilitations, Masterplanning, Urban Realm, Planting Strategy and Graphic Design.
