Andrew Bayne
ABC Planning and Design
Andrew is an urban designer and a planner. He founded ABC Planning and Design in 2006. Prior to setting up ABC, Andrew was a Director at the multi-disciplinary urban design practice EDAW where he worked closely with many of people now at OPEN. Since leaving EDAW Andrew has continued to regularly collaborate with his former colleagues and is currently engaged on a number of masterplanning projects.
He specialises in urban strategies, masterplanning, public engagement and urban design for sustainable communities, city growth and regeneration projects in the UK and overseas. Andrew is an active Enabler with Architecture and Design Scotland, the Scottish Government’s body promoting better design in the built environment, where he is working with urban regeneration companies, writing articles on new approaches to housing and urban design and undertaking design review. Andrew has also delivered “Design Awareness Training” to Scottish Planning Authorities on behalf of the Scottish Government Improvement Services in relation to urban design principles and masterplanning.
